There is a need to know the difference from the The Law Of Moses (the first covenant written on stone) and the The Abrahamic Covenant that was established by the blood of Jesus.
Abrahamic Covenant Was Already A Done deal in God
God did not cut the covenant with Abraham
He put Abraham to sleep.
Abraham Believed God . . . and went To sleep.
The Faith of Abraham is To Believe God Regardless
Faith Begins at God’s Word Period
You can pick out and choose what you like and dispose of what you disagree with.
God has two covenants.
But the church treats the Abrahamic Covenant as if it is the only covenant
There’s a first Covenant
There’s a second Covenant
Abraham was blessed Because Of His Faith
Not Because of any works he did
In Genesis Abraham was a sleep when God walked through the slain animals
And Only discuss and explained to Abraham the intent of His covenant and the benefits He would receive
And He Believed God
How did This come about . . . concerning giving gifts or offerings to God
Cain Verses Abel
God Does Not Accept Man’s Labor And Self Effort
Gen 4:2
And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Gen 4:3
And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Gen 4:4
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
The Problem is man’s own effort verses What God has already provided and Created
And What God brought into being, called the Abrahamic Covenant, is something that God has provided for
Us.
And that’s why He had To Do away with the Law. Because The Law demanded works of the flesh.
Just like with Cain and his offering to God.
God could not have that kind of a deal. God had to have some thing He provided.
Because whatever God provides it’s going to be perfect. Without fault.
And because Abraham was the kind of Faith Walker that He was. God blessed Him
On the right and on the left. On the front and the back
And because He was this kind of a man, God saw a man that He as God demonstrate His Intentions
On everything He wanted to give man to get man back into the God realm of provisions that belong
To Adam before He fell.
See, Man Can’t provide that. God won’t accept it. It chokes God’s standard out of the equation.
It does not matter good or bad you are, man’s flesh is incapable of the inheritance of GOD
And the flesh can only die and go back to the dirt from which it was made.
And There is No glory that is reflective of how awesome God is in a man’s flesh
Man can not provide heaven.
He has to believe in order to receive and be part of what God can Only provide
Man cannot provide perfection. God is the only one that can provide perfection
Eph 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
God Was Not Cutting The Covenant With Abraham
Gen 15:12
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness
fell upon him.
Gen 15:17
And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Gen 15:18
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram,
Because The covenant was not being Cut with Abraham
What God did was explain the Covenant To Abram . . . The things that were going to take with his seed
That through That Seed He was Going To Cut The Covenant
He instructed what required for Abraham To get In The Covenant
And Its not Just that But I speaking the knowledge of what it required for you to get in the covenant
Its called Circumcision . . . which is death to your flesh at the Cross
Circumcision was required of foreskin as a token . . . to Be in the Covenant
Gen 17:11
And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token
of the covenant betwixt me and you.
Cut Covenant meant that Blood had to be shed
The Old Testament view of circumcision
A token meant a sign, a mark, or symbol; a visible or tangible representation
a truth.
Circumcision served as a visible sign or representation of the Crucifixion
of Christ whose body became a body of sin for the whole world
God Put Abraham To sleep
Circumcision Certainly seems to Mimic Flesh being Put to Sleep
To Put the flesh asleep in our conscience
Deu 30:6
And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul,
that thou mayest live.
God’s intent was to eventually circumcise the sinful flesh of man from
man’s spirit or heart by way of substitution through the vicarious sacrifice
of Christ on the cross.
Col 2:11
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,
in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Rom 6:6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body
of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Circumcision in Christ = Death was imputed to your flesh and Life was
given to your spirit (the new birth)
Think about it . . . In order to be born again your flesh had to counted
as dead.
God had to see the death of your flesh before He could
give you eternal life.
In Circumcision the gift of death that preceded the gift of Life
The death of your sinful flesh was accomplished that born again life could
be given to your spirit
Rom 8:10
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life
because of righteousness.
Rom 5:10
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Gal 5:24
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
A CIRCUMCISION LIFE
2Co 4:10
Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life
also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
1Pe 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being
dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Rom 6:7
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Rom 6:8
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Rom 6:9
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Rom 6:10
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Rom 6:11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
In Acknowledging Truth Of Circumcision . . . We Mortify the Deeds Of The Flesh
Rom 8:12
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
The reason you die is because, to rely upon the flesh is to rely upon that
which is dead
Your deeds are recognized as dead deeds by way of living after the Spirit
The Flesh Is Simply No Good
The Flesh does Not Know God
You and I can never deliver ourselves from sin
We needed His help completely to be saved
